2002

Lausanne Occasional Papers

The current executive leadership team of BAM Global is Mats Tunehag, Jo Plummer and João Mordomo. Mats, Jo and João have been collaborating since 2002 when they worked as an editing team on the Lausanne Occasional Paper on Business as Mission.

2011

BAM Global Think Tank Begins

The Think Tank began in 2011 as a two year project to open up an unprecedented forum for discussion, collaboration and networking on business as mission. The BAM Global Think Tank used as a foundation and model the earlier work of the Business as Mission Issue Group of the Lausanne Forum 2004, that produced the Lausanne Occasional Paper on Business as Mission.

BAM Global in its current form was launched in 2014 as a more permanent initiative, building on the work of the Think Tank and continuing to facilitate communication and cooperation in the business as mission community.

BAM Global became a register 501(c)(3) in the USA.

10 Years of BAM Global

In 2024, BAM Global celebrated is 10 year anniversary with it’s growing team of 8 staff.

The BAM Global Think Tank 2011–2013 brought together collaborative groups to look at current issues vital to the business as mission community. Other groups gathered in geographic regions and countries. The Think Tank initiative culminated in a BAM Global Congress in April 2013 and continues to initiate and publish reports from its consultations and working groups.

Lausanne Global Forum on BAM

The Lausanne 2004 Forum Business as Mission Issue Group spent a year exploring God's purposes for work, the role of businesspeople in church, global needs, and business responses. The group included over 70 participants from all continents, from business, church, mission education, law, research, and theology backgrounds. Their collaboration produced 60 papers and 25 case studies and the BAM Manifesto.
